Paul Kalanithi’s When Breath Becomes Air
“There is a moment, a cusp, when the sum of gathered experience is worn down by the details of living. We are never so wise as when we live in this moment.”
If you need a good cry, this book is for you. I read it in 3 hours but it was packed full of depth, life, and meaning the entire time. The book is written by a neurosurgeon-neuroscientist who receives the news that he has terminal lung cancer. As Paul Kalanithi was writing the book, he passed away and so he did not get to complete the book, but the two part book discusses the reason to live and finding what gives life the meaning that makes life worth living. I would definitely recommend this read as it is quick, yet powerful.
