e. lockhart’s we were liars
“The universe was good because he was in it.”
I rarely give a book 5 stars on Goodreads, but this book made the cut. It ripped my heart out and kept me engaged the entire time. I actually read the whole book in one sitting just because I couldn’t put it down. The narrator spends the book trying to determine what could have happened to her for her to lose her memory of almost an entire summer. She knew she was sick and had been traumatized, but had no memory of why. When she discovered the truth, I found myself in tears. The characters are developed so well and the book is just so well written. It is a book I left shaken, yet inspired. I know I will be thinking about this one for a long time to come.
