John Steinbeck’s Tortilla Flat

“What pillow can one have like a good conscience?”

 I’ve decided I’m going to do a little John Steinbeck review over the next few weeks by reading some of his most loved works. I kicked it off with the funny, charming, and character-driven novel, Tortilla Flat. Got to love a story where the town’s main currency is wine. I love Steinbeck’s style of writing which is simplistic and concise, but capable of painting really vivid imagery in the reader’s mind.
