Jian Barnes’ The Sense of an Ending
“History is that certainty produced at the point where the imperfections of memory meet the inadequacies of documentation.”
I really loved this novel. It is a book that makes you feel like it has to be leading up to something, then it does not disappoint with a unexpected twist at the end. It left me with the idea that our actions and words have consequences that we may never find out, but if we do it could be a painful discovery. I liked this book because it was real. It is easy to read, but philosophical at the same time. It is a book that left me thinking.
