The Everything Store: Jeff Bezos and the Age of Amazon

Brad Stone’s The Everything Store: Jeff Bezos and the Age of Amazon

“When you are eighty years old, and in a quiet moment of reflection narrating for only yourself the most personal version of your life story, the telling that will be most compact and meaningful will be the series of choices you have made. In the end, we are our choices. —Jeff Bezos, commencement speech at Princeton University, May 30, 2010”

I loved this read. After going to graduate school and getting my Masters of Business Administration, I grew a real love studying successful businesses and understanding what makes them function so well. Amazon is one of those businesses that has grown incredibly fast and become the source of almost all of my personal shopping. I grew even more fascinated with Amazon while working at TDBBS, LLC where we had an Amazon specialist learning the intricacies of the company and skyrocketing sales in this new channel. While some business books can be dry and somewhat boring, this book was filled with fascinating stories that kept me engaged and intrigued.
