Siddhartha

Herman Hesse’s Siddhartha

“Within you there is a stillness and a sanctuary to which you can retreat at anytime and be yourself.”

After reading Pema Chodron’s When Things Fall Apart, I wanted to get a little bit more of the Buddhist perspective, so I turned to Siddhartha as a story that could provide some basic insights on Buddhism without blatantly discussing the way of life. This is another book that I noticed a lot of my friend’s reading in high school, but somehow I missed out on. This book is a great reminder that whatever bad or good may happen to us, there is always a purpose and it will always pass.
