LaRose

Louise Erdrich’s LaRose

“Sorrow eats time. Be patient. Time eats sorrow.”

This was a really interesting read centered around Native American traditions. An accident occurs when a Native American man is hunting and mistakenly kills his neighbor’s son. In order to pay the debts of his error, the man gives his son to the neighbors, which leads to a difficult but somewhat beautiful adjustment that brings two families together. This book definitely made me want to read some of Louise Erdrich’s other novels!
